The Diploma III Program in Public Sector Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Trisakti University, conducted a Guest Lecture featuring Dr. Deni Darmawati, S.E., Ak., M.Si., CA., CSRS., CSRA., CGRCPA., CPIA., CIIQA., CIRM, Head of the Diploma III Program in Public Sector Accounting, as the keynote speaker. The event was carried out with great enthusiasm from the students of Universiti Teknologi Mara, Sarawak, Malaysia. The classroom atmosphere became highly interactive and dynamic through various discussions, questions, and active participation from the students throughout the session.

On this occasion, the speaker presented a topic entitled “Sustainability Governance: Strengthening Companies’ Sustainability Strategy.” The sustainability theme introduced a new and engaging perspective for students, providing insights into the broad implementation of sustainability practices in the industrial sector.

Through the presentation, students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of sustainability governance in corporate strategy, particularly concerning Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects. The material also illustrated how companies today are expected not only to focus on profitability, but also to consider their long-term social and environmental impacts.

Beyond enhancing academic knowledge, this activity broadened students’ perspectives regarding the role of accounting in supporting corporate sustainability in the future. This understanding is expected to foster greater awareness among students of the important role accounting professionals play in creating responsible and sustainable business practices.
